The Six Ingredients to Success: A Guideline to Creating Your Own Success

Is there a universal definition of success? Some people may say that they’ve reached the peak of their success and yet when you look at their lives, they are no better than the life you have. So what is success really? How do you define success?

The definition of success, like happiness, is based on the extent of how a person views it. If you Google success, its definition would be “ the accomplishment of an aim or a purpose, the attainment of popularity or profit.”

Life Coach Brian Tracy, in one of his audio lectures or seminars called The Psychology of Success, talks about the true meaning of success and how to go about in achieving it.

To define the true meaning of success, there are basically six requirements you need to meet or to feel to say that you are successful.

1.You have peace of mind.

This is what religion, metaphysical philosophies and psychology works are aimed at showing people. Peace of mind simply is freedom from fear, freedom from anger and freedom from guilt. It also means going to sleep at night feeling peaceful and in harmony with yourself and waking up feeling the same way.

2.You have a high level of health and energy.

Not having the energy to enjoy your life won’t give you much satisfaction out of it. The sooner you achieve any kind of peace of mind, you immediately turn to achieving higher levels of health and physical energy.

3. You have loving relationships.

To have loving relationships is to enter into and maintain long-term intimate mature relationships with other people, the trademark of self-actualizing fully performing personality. Your thoughts are immediately turned on to relationships with other people as soon as you’ve achieved a certain level of peace of mind and health and energy.

4.You have financial freedom.

It simply means having enough money so that we don’t have to worry about not having enough money. This is the opposite of living from paycheck to paycheck. It means never having to worry about where you might get the finances needed for everyday life.

5.You have worthy goals and ideals.

As human beings, having clear goals that you are committed to and have worthy ideals that you believe in, only then you would be capable of performing your best.

6. You have a feeling of personal fulfillment.

This is basically to feel that you are becoming everything that you are capable of becoming as human beings.

Our success is measured in relation to our ability to enjoy these six ingredients, yet it doesn’t necessarily mean for you to meet all of them to feel successful. The guidelines look easy to achieve but then still, the question is : why are there so few people that describe themselves as successful?

More than 95% do not achieve real lasting success in their lives. At least 80% of people retiring in our society today end up flat broke and depend on others for survival. Only 5% or less achieves financial independence in their lifetime. Is it maybe because there is no such thing as perfection? You may feel successful at your business or career and yet fail to be successful in your personal relationships.

One of the reasons for this is being born as the most complex creation, yes we are complex beings, but without an instruction manual. We spend our lives trying to figure out how to get the best of ourselves. Would it be much easier if we were given a manual on how to live our best lives the moment we were born? That would have been awesome!

As a woman, you should have your very own definition of success, and should not conform to the typical masculine definition. Comparing your hustle to the hustle of a man will only leave you drained. This guide however serves just as a guide, a recipe you can follow to create your own definition of success.

Although there is no shortcut and easy way to success, many people have achieved them, based on their own definitions. You create your own path. You create your own pace. Don’t compare your success to the success of others.

You, as a woman, have an easier and non-competitive way to achieve success. We women are nurturers. We lift each other up and lift others up especially the men in our lives. The adage “Behind every successful man is a woman” rings very, very true. While you can be successful yourself, you can feel more satisfaction and contentment in helping others find theirs, especially that of the people you love.
